I’m excited to share a few in-process images with you, giving a glimpse into the journey of my work. I truly enjoy each stage the clay goes through, from shaping the pieces to the final firing.
My glaze process begins with applying low-fire color slips before bisque firing the work. After bisque firing, I may layer additional colored slips or cover the surface with a wash, which I then wipe off. This technique leaves behind intentional finger marks, adding texture and character to the piece. I often wonder what would happen if I left the wash half-wiped off before firing — an experiment I plan to explore more.
I’m sharing this with you to encourage creativity and play in the studio. The process is just as important as the finished piece, and I hope it inspires you to experiment and have fun with your work.
